Tim Ryan Has Been a No-Show Nightmare for Lordstown

This week Tim Ryan claimed false credit for the Foxconn-Lordstown Motors deal earning media coverage in the process. Ryan said, “The prayers we’ve been saying for 40 years about something coming into the community being transformational, this is it. Our prayers have been answered… It’s the stuff dreams are made of. So we’re just thrilled with the potential for the workers and the families in our community who have struggled to find really good employment for a long time. This is it. It’s here.”

Bernie Moreno responded, “Tim Ryan has been in Congress for 17 years and has made over $4 million dollars in taxpayer money. In that time, Lordstown has lost ten percent of its population and its median income has been flat. When Tim Ryan started 3,600 Ohioans worked at Lordstown – they all lost their jobs under his watch.  The people of Lordstown deserve more than Tim Ryan’s prayers. What has he been doing for 17 years?  He hasn’t been working on job creation. When I had a plan to save the Lordstown plant, Tim Ryan wouldn’t even meet with me. He has been a no-show nightmare for workers. When I’m Senator, I’ll focus on job creation. I won’t collect a check for nearly two decades as more and more of my constituents lose their jobs.”
