Bernie Moreno: “Our Schools Must Remain Open”

Pro-Trump, Ohio job creator and candidate for U.S. Senate Bernie Moreno called on all schools to remain open throughout the coming year.

“The bureaucrats, teachers’ unions and liberals are starting to talk about keeping kids out of in-person learning again,” Bernie Moreno said. “This can not be allowed to happen. We cannot allow our schools to close again because our children’s minds are always open. We must do whatever it takes to keep in-person learning available. I’m confident that Ohio parents, like Virginia parents recently showed, will not allow the radical left to jeopardize our children’s future again.”

Numerous studies clearly and overwhelming prove the developmental impediment of kids caused by remote learning. In the last year, we have seen students shut out of the classroom, women forced out of the workforce, and parents denied the ability to make decisions for their child’s education.

Bernie and Bridget, his wife of 32-years, had been prominent partners with a local charter school prior to the first round of COVID shutdowns.

Bernie said, “We urged the head of a local charter school we support in Cleveland to reopen. We made clear that if the school shut down, there was no safety net at home for remote learning. We told them it was not as easy as hopping on a zoom call with an iPad as politicians in Columbus or DC may think. When they wouldn’t do what was best for the kids, we told the school we could no longer support them.”

Bernie Moreno was also the first candidate to speak out against the COVID lockdowns and shutdowns when this first began.
