Bernie Moreno: “No More Mask Mandates in Schools”

U.S. Senate Candidate Bernie Moreno today called for an end to mask mandates in Ohio schools. Yesterday, Cincinnati Public Schools reinforced its mask mandate for the fall. Columbus Public Schools took the same action earlier this week, as have other public school systems in Ohio.

“No more mask mandates in schools,” Moreno said. “It’s time for kids to be kids. And it’s time to trust parents, not the government. We saw, for a year, that our public schools are run for the benefit of teachers’ unions and not students.  Reinstating mask mandates discourages the public from getting vaccinated, distracts students from learning and gives the government more control over our lives. It shouldn’t be the big hand of government deciding what’s best for our children, it should be parents.”

Bernie Moreno was the only candidate to speak out against the statewide lockdowns last year, warning of the harm they would do to the economy.
